4 Days Akagera Wildlife Holiday in Rwanda
This 4 days Akagera Wildlife Holiday will take you to see and experience nature’s beauty and biodiversity. All of this takes place in Rwanda’s only savannah park, one of the country’s most popular safari locations. Akagera National Park is located in the eastern portion of Rwanda, near the Tanzanian border and is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna.
Big cats like lions, Cape Buffaloes and warthogs may pique your curiosity. Birds, a beautiful setting, and a wide range of vegetation. You will go on a game drive, guided nature walks, and a boat trip during the days. The journey begins and concludes at Kigali international airport, or anywhere you like.
Safari Overview
Day 1: Pickup and Transfer to Akagera National Park
After landing at Kigali International Airport or at a hotel in Kigali City, be greeted by a representative from our organization who will brief you on the entire trip and what to expect from the beginning to the end of your adventure.
After a glass of juice, you’ll drive to Akagera National Park, which is a 4-5-hour’s drive with views of rolling hills and lush vegetation. Arrival will be in the evening for refreshments, supper and overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and cultural adventure
You will travel on a three to four-hour wildlife drive in the wild after a morning breakfast feast. The time has come to go closer to Mother Nature and observe many animals, including hippos, lions, African elephants, Cape Buffalos, Rhinos and variety of antelope species.
Following the game drive, return to the lodge for refreshment, lunch, and then proceed for an exciting cultural excursion in the neighboring villages where you’ll get entertained by the local people. Dances, native costumes and tunes will all be enjoyable. Dinner and overnight conclude today’s experience.
Day 3: Bird watching and boat cruise
You will leave the lodge at dawn for an early morning birdwatching experience, when the birds are just leaving their nests, feeding and singing various melodies. Bird populations are one-of-a-kind, stunningly beautiful and as cheerful as sunrise and sunset. The birding experience lasts about two to three hours, and includes sights and sounds of birds like as the shoebill, Senegal lapwings, water thick-knee, African open bill stock, and squacco Herons.
Return for breakfast, refreshment and later on lunch, followed by a 3-4 hours’ boat excursion. Hippos, crocodiles, and other aquatic birds call Lake Ihema home. The tranquility and quiet waves will fill you with freshness. Dinner will be served at the end of this day, followed by an overnight stay.
Day 4: Guided nature walk and departure
Have a one-hour guided nature walk along the selected paths after enjoying delicious breakfast meals at the resort. The rich vegetation and magnificent scenery will delight you. After the excursion, you will return to the resort and check out in preparation for a transfer to Kigali and this will mark the end of your 4 Days Akagera Wildlife Holiday in Rwanda.
