4 Days Bwindi Gorillas & Lake Bunyonyi
The 4 days Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi safari offers you the best of gorilla trekking adventure and unforgettable experience on Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda and the 2nd deepest in the whole of Africa. Bwindi National Park & Lake Bunyonyi are all situated within Kabale, Southwestern Uganda and they are a few main areas worth visiting on Uganda safaris. Bwindi protects a good number of mountain gorillas, a few of which still exist on earth about 1063 of them and 459 of which range within the bamboo and rain-forest of Bwindi.
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
Enjoy early morning breakfast and after, vacate the hotel facility you had overnight stay in Kampala. Drive to Bwindi for your 4 days Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi safari holiday, connecting via Masaka, Mbarara to Kabale. The 8-9 hours’ drive trip includes 2 stopovers, at Kayabwe Equator crossing and Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch. Get to Bwindi to check into the lodge where you will settle for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking 2-6 hours Bwindi Forest
Bwindi gorilla trekking: Rise up for your early breakfast, leave the lodge for briefing about gorilla trekking rules. Trekking mountain gorillas in Bwindi is a remarkable adventure and only 8pax will be allocated to 1 group of Bwindi’s habituated gorillas. At 8:00am, all Bwindi treks to explore gorilla families will be done with guidance of an armed & experienced guide in Uganda.
A number of factors often determine how long you will take tracking Bwindi mountain gorillas including your speed of walking but it can take 2-6 hours with astonishing sightings of birds, mammals, flora etc. Take pictures, observe mountain gorillas closely during 1 hour of magical encounter then return from bamboo forest for relaxation. Later, take time to visit the Batwa pygmies at their communities and be guaranteed of unforgettable and authentic cultural encounters.
Day 3: Visit Lake Bunyonyi, Kabale
Lake Bunyonyi canoe/boat ride: Have a tasty cup of coffee/tea and after, leave Bwindi for Lake Bunyonyi for more exciting experiences. Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest lake is noted for its magical land forms including 29 islands which you should expect to visit during the canoe/boat ride. After, return, have lunch and complete the day with nature/community walk to interact with Batwa pygmies & Bakiga local residents residing around the lake.
Day 4: Depart
Breakfast early, followed by check out of the lodge and transfer to Kampala with en-route lunch-End of the 4 days Bwindi and Lake Bunyonyi safari.
