Starting from the City of Nairobi, the 5 days Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru N/P Safari comprises of the spectacular Masai Mara National Reserve to witness the wildebeest migration as well as the renowned Lake Nakuru haven to thousands of colorful flamingos as well as Great white and pink-backed pelicans, secretary birds and ibises among others.
Some of the must-see animals in both National Parks are Rhinos, Cape buffaloes, Masai/Rothschild giraffes, Defassa waterbucks, African wild dogs, warthogs, Grant’s zebras, African lions and Cape elands while the wildebeests, gazelles, lesser kudu, Hippos, yellow baboons, cheetahs, serval cats, leopards, jackals and foxes are found in the phenomenal Masai Mara National Reserve.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in the magical Kenya, Jomo Kenyatta Airport (main gateway for International flights)
Arrive into magical Kenya with your International flight, meet and greet our safari representative at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. After sharing pleasantries and briefing, be transferred to the Hotel for refreshment and overnight.
Day 2: Nairobi/Jomo Kenyatta Airport-Lake Nakuru National Park
On the second day, pick-up from the Hotel in Nairobi or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport is about 7:30am and leave for Lake Nakuru National Park. This Park is nestled within the heart of the Great Rift Valley and is famous for its pink flamingos, which are part of the 450 bird species that call this park home.
It’s not just these beautiful birds that make travellers to visit the safari destination but also the black and white Rhinos, Cape buffaloes, the elusive leopards, Hippos, lions, Defassa waterbucks and elands among others. Lunch is served on arrival at the park to allow departure for the game drive by late afternoon.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara National Reserve
An early breakfast at the Lodge is enough to start off your adventure in Lake Nakuru National Park with views of black rhinos, leopards, Defassa waterbucks, lions and Hippos being common during the drive.
Time permitting, visit the magical Lake Naivasha Crescent Island for a quick boat cruise before immediately exiting for Masai Mara National Reserve. Have a picnic lunch en-route and rest for the remainder of the day.
Day 4: Full day tour of the remarkable Masai Mara National Reserve
After a hearty breakfast leave the Lodge with packed lunch for a full-day tour of remarkable Masai Mara National Reserve, through a game drive. Drive through the vast savannah plains of this Reserve, where you will be amazed by the wide range of animal species, moreover in huge numbers.
For this exploration, the game drive leads you to the famous Mara River to see how over 1.5 million wildebeests, zebras and gazelles struggle to cross the River while at the same time battling with crocodiles at the banks. Dinner and slumber at the same place of lodging.
Day 5: Masai Mara National Reserve-Nairobi City/Airport
The last day of your 5 days Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru N/P Safari starts with breakfast then leisurely drive while exiting the Reserve for Nairobi City. Make a stop at the Great Rift Valley for photography and admire the beauty before drop-off at the Airport or Hotel.
