Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe international airport and check in at a hotel

The driver-guide will meet you at the airport and welcome you to his great 7 days Bwindi gorillas trekking and Masai Mara safari. He will take you through a briefing and then transfer to your hotel in Kampala. You have the option of experiencing nightlife in Kampala or head to a massage parlour.

Day 2: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable with a stopover at the Uganda equator

Have breakfast and transfer to Bwindi national park which is one of the remarkable national parks keeping the remaining population of endangered mountain gorillas.

This unique park has thick jungles and famously known as the impenetrable forest, with other unique attractions like chimpanzees, forest elephants, antelopes, over 350 bird species among others. While on the way, have a stopover at the Uganda equator for photography and buying some souvenir. Proceed to Mbarara city for lunch and continue after on the journey to the park. Check in at your place of accommodation.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking and cultural encounters

Have morning breakfast and transfer to the park offices from the lodge where you spent a night. At the park offices, engage in a 30-minutes briefing session to know about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking experience, get to know about the forest and its inhabitants. The guide will there after lead you to the forest to explore its beauty while searching for the apes.

Upon locating them, have a chance to spot mother gorillas grooming young ones, feeding, moving from one place to another among others. This experience takes about 1-8 hours including an hour while in their presence. Trek back to the starting point and the head guide will award you a certificate for trekking the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi national park.

Proceed to the lodge for lunch and later take a visit to the neighboring Batwa villages, where you will be able to discover one of the unique cultures of Africa. The Batwa cultural experience exposes you to their unique traditional music and dance, making fire using local materials among others. Return to the lodge for dinner.

Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala and fly to Nairobi

Wake up early and enjoy your breakfast which will be followed by a transfer to Kampala. A stopover at Uganda equator for lunch and photography. Later, proceed with the journey and find your way to Entebbe where you will board a flight to Nairobi.

On arrival, meet our Kenyan representative who will welcome you and quickly take you through a briefing about the entire safari. Transfer to a booked hotel.

Day 5: Transfer to Masai Mara National Reserve & Afternoon game drive

Enjoy a leisure breakfast at the hotel and then transfer to Masai Mara national reserve and the journey to the park rewards you with great sceneries of western arm of the rift valley. The reserve gets its name from the Masai tribe that inhabits the region. The Masai are some of the nomadic tribes of Africa and the plains cover an area of 1510 square kilometres, bordering Serengeti national park to the north of Tanzania.

Different rivers in the reserve like Mara attract numerous animals which makes it perfect spot for wildlife viewing. On arrival, you will be welcomed at the lodge, check-in and after lunch head for a game drive where you will be able to spot different animals.

Day 6: Full day Masai Mara experience

Explore the best of Masai Mara national reserve on this day during a full-day game drive in the plains where different wildlife animals will be spotted such as lions, cheetah, rhinos, African buffalos, giraffes, zebras, leopards among others. Also, have a chance to spot wildebeests migrating to Serengeti national park if your safari happens in the migration season.

On this day, visit different corners of the Mara plains and also have your picnic lunch while spotting different wildlife. Return to the lodge for your dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Nairobi and fly back home

On this last day of your 7 days safari, head out for an early morning game drive which will be followed by a transfer to Nairobi – Jomo Kenyatta international airport to catch a flight back home and this will mark the end of your 7 days Bwindi Gorillas & Masai Mara safari.
