7 Days Remarkable Uganda Safari
The 7 days Remarkable Uganda Safari exposes visitors of the pearl of Africa to the Chimpanzees our close relatives in Kibale national park and again enjoy other primates while trekking. The wildlife of Uganda is normally experienced in the savannah national parks like Queen Elizabeth National Park and Murchison falls national park which will be visited.
This Remarkable Uganda Safari will cover the big five due to a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking. A leopard is rarely spotted in Uganda national park but if you are lucky enough, you will spot it in Murchison falls national park.
Day 1: Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Murchison falls-stopover at Ziwa for rhino trekking
Be served breakfast at the hotel restaurant and then the driver guide will be ready to pick you. Offers a quick brief about the safari and the routes and heads to Murchison early enough to beat the traffic jam in Kawempe areas. The road trip takes you through the roadside local markets and then has a stopover to one to buy some fruits like pineapples, passion fruits, sugar canes, paw paws among others and the choice is yours to choose the best of the best fresh fruits.
Another stopover will be at Ziwa rhino sanctuary which is the only place to trek Rhinos in the wild and the 7 days chimps and wildlife safari in Uganda will have started. Trekking takes about two hours and after head to a restaurant for lunch and break. Proceed to Murchison falls national park which is known to be the largest national park in Uganda. The Murchison falls historically known as Kabalega falls is the most powerful waterfall in the world. On the arrival, you will check into the booked accommodation.
Day 2. Game drive and boat cruise
The game drives normally take place in the northern sector where the park is dominated by savannah woodland trees and offering a good sight to spot wild animals. The game drive normally takes about 3 hours but you need to wake up early to be able to spot lions, leopards as they hunt before they retire due to sunshine. Other animals that will be spotted during the game drive include elephants, buffalos, giraffes, antelopes, olive baboons among others.
The break normally takes place at the hippo pool where you will cut your fruits and enjoy while spotting the hippos. Embark on the evening boat cruise at Albert Nile which will take you to the bottom of the falls as you enjoy the Nile crocodiles, hippos and different birds while the elephants and buffalos graze at the banks of the Nile. Spot the rainbow that is formed when powerful water squeezes itself in a small tunnel. Take photos and record videos and after transfer to a lodge in the southern / northern sector of Murchison falls.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale national park and visit Isunga Community
Have a morning breakfast and then transfer to Kibale national park. This park is shared by the three districts and that is Kabarole, Kyenjojo and Kamwenge and well known to be the only park with 13 primates including chimpanzees. The part has various tree hardwood trees, over 300 bird species among others attractions.
The journey to Kibale national park is marvelous and for photographers, this is the best of any photographic moments. You will arrive in Kibale and take lunch at the booked hotel or have en-route lunch and you proceed to Isunga Cultural Community where you will have the best experience of Batooro and Bakiga cultures. This will be by tasting the traditional dishes, entertainment from the traditional dances, music and drama, visiting the cold springs with its traditional story attached. And after, head to the booked accommodation for your dinner.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
Have breakfast and then head to the Kanyanchu Information Center where you will be able to receive a briefing exercise. The dos and don’ts are given to you that you will follow while in the forest, all queens about Kibale forest and Chimpanzees are offered and join other trekkers with a help of the ranger park guide penetrate the interior of the forest while searching for the chimpanzees and on locating them, you will be allowed to be in their presence for an hour while watching them play, feed, breastfeed among others.
After the trek, head to the lodge for lunch or a restaurant in the Bigodi trading center for lunch. Join another tourist to visit the Bigodi wetland sanctuary to take a swamp walk which will reward you with different primates and birds. Later on, return to the lodge for dinner and a nap.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and boat cruise on Kazinga channel
On fifth day of 7 Days Remarkable Uganda Safari, head to Queen Elizabeth National Park with its nearest town being Kasese and this park is the most visited by tourists on their Uganda safari. With diverse wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, olive baboons among others and hippos, crocodiles in the Kazinga Channel, Queen Elizabeth National Park is also home to chimpanzees that are located in the Kyambura gorge and the tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector.
On arrival, you will be welcome by animals and lakes like Lake Nyamunuka. After, head for a boat cruise in the afternoon which normally takes place on the Kazinga channel. It will expose you to the school of hippos, crocodiles among others and after you will take a short game drive that will take you to the booked for dinner.
Day 6: Full day exploration in Queen Elizabeth National Park
On this day, you will take different game drives in the plains of the park and you will take part in the morning and late evening game drives. During the game drives, you will be able to spot animals like lions, leopards, civets, buffalos, elephants, giant forest hogs, serval cats among others.
You will head to the Ishasha sector where you will spot the rare tree-climbing lions resting in the tree branches.
Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala and Departure
Have breakfast and then head to Kampala with a game drive. The drive from Queen Elizabeth National Park to Kampala can take about 6 hours with a stopover for photos in Fort portal tea plantations, and another one in Mubende for lunch. Driver-guide will drop you at the airport in Entebbe which will be the end of this 7 days Remarkable Uganda Safari.
